About Foodnote Festival

How are we going to feed the 10 billion people on earth in 2050? To answer that question, I along with a team of four others organised the Foodnote Festival at the Utrecht Science Park. We worked together with scientists, food experts, students, entrepreneurs, creatives and our visitors to explore possible solutions to one of the biggest challenges of our future.

For 12 days we took our visitors on a journey through time: from slabs of meat eaten by the prehistoric hunter-gatherers to futuristic dishes prepared by robots. But it was not just about eating food; we explored the future of our food through various workshops, film evenings, experiments and talk shows. Which challenges do we face, and can we find sustainable solutions to our mounting problems?
